Step by Step

From First Call to First Swim

What happens at each step, and what we will ask of you.

  1. Discovery Call

    30 minutes

    What happens

A relaxed conversation with our design manager to understand your vision, your timeline, and your budget.

    Your part

Bring the photos you have saved, a rough budget range, and the must-haves on your list.

  2. Design Consultation

    60 minutes on site, complimentary

    What happens

A complimentary on-site visit to assess your space, including the details that shape every build here: drainage, soil, and HOA considerations.

    Your part

Walk the yard with us, and have your HOA guidelines handy if you have them.

  3. 3D Design & Proposal

    Within one week

    What happens

Custom 3D renderings of your backyard and a detailed proposal, so you can see the project before anything is built.

    Your part

Live with the design for a few days, then tell us what you love and what you would change.

  4. Material Selection

    In our design studio

    What happens

You curate finishes, stone, tile, and equipment with us in our design studio. Equipment and automation are built around Pentair.

    Your part

See and touch the samples, and choose what feels right underfoot and in the evening light.

  5. Permits & Engineering

    2–4 weeks

    What happens

We handle all permits and structural engineering, and guide your project through HOA design review.

    Your part

Very little. Sign the forms that need a homeowner signature, and we take care of the rest.

  6. Construction

    8–14 weeks

    What happens

Expert construction with weekly owner updates, so you always know what was done and what comes next.

    Your part

Read your weekly update, and let us know about anything at home that affects the schedule.

  7. Reveal & Care

    Lifetime support

    What happens

Your dream revealed, with a lifetime of Arise support behind it. Weekly and monthly service, equipment repair, and seasonal care are there whenever you want them.

    Your part

Swim. Then call us whenever you need us.

Process FAQ

Questions, Answered

The things homeowners ask us most before step one.

Is the design consultation really free?

Yes. The 30-minute discovery call with our design manager and the 60-minute on-site design consultation are both complimentary.

How long does a project take from first call to first swim?

It depends on your scope, your HOA, and your city. As a guide, your 3D design and detailed proposal arrive within one week of the on-site consultation, permits and engineering take 2–4 weeks, and construction runs 8–14 weeks.

Who handles permits and HOA approval?

We do. Arise handles all permits and structural engineering and guides your project through HOA design review, so the paperwork does not land on you.

Will I see my backyard before it is built?

Yes. You receive custom 3D renderings and a detailed proposal before construction begins, and you choose your finishes, stone, tile, and equipment with us in our design studio.

How will I know what is happening during construction?

You get weekly owner updates for the length of the build, so you always know where your project stands.

Can you remodel my existing pool instead of building a new one?

Often, yes. Whether a remodel fits depends on the condition of the shell and plumbing and how much the layout changes, which we check on site. Learn more about our pool remodels.

Can I finance my project?

Yes. Financing is available through our partner, Home Improvement Loans, with terms up to 180 months on approved credit. See an example on our financing page.

What happens after the reveal?

Our relationship continues long after the water goes in. Arise offers weekly and monthly service, equipment repair, and seasonal care to keep your backyard pristine year-round.
